The Computer Center/User Assistance (CCUA) Department of a large manufacturing company featured in the case study has suffered numerous morale issues, and higher than normal turnover rates over the last past year. Looking at the Pay Study that Denise Nance, the director of the department, received that compared their companyââ¬â¢s pay scale with other comparable industries and it shows that the company has some opportunity to be competitive. CCUA departmentââ¬â¢s pay rate for their data processor II is $24,960 annually, where comparable industries lower range is around $27,500. They are among the lowest paid jobs that were surveyed. This is true in multiple pay situations with their positions. The current pay rate for computer analysist is $31,500 per year. When compared to similar jobs, they were close to being four thousand dollars less. The lowest pay range for other companyââ¬â¢s computer analysist is $32,143 per year, which is still higher than the highest paid computer analyst at CCUA. The health insurance coverage that is offered is at a cost of $950 per year, which deducts approximately 50 cents per hour to cover those charges. With the fact that 3.5 percent of the budget set for pay increases is being used to award performance, the department should increase its pay rate , within budget, in order to become more competitive and reduce the turn-over rate that they are experiencing. 2.
